Thoughts upon Leaving the Old Mill September 4, 2003 susanna clarke (Cambridge, Cambridgeshire United Kingdom) 111 out of 117 found this review helpful
Good price. Looks good. Oval shape is supposed to improve the grind! Certainly it makes it nice to handle and empty. Looong lead might be useful to some, a bit of a nuisance to us. Switch on the lid: handy, but equally, easy to press by accident. It hasn't lasted long. Less than 2 years, already making a nasty screech, as of disintegrating bearings. Maybe we were unlucky, or maybe twice a day is more use than it can stand.
Does the job fine November 1, 2005 Rachael Farnsworth (Oxford, UK) 35 out of 36 found this review helpful
Grinds beautifully - certainly I've had none of the problems others report. Ours is in its 4th year and going strong; birthday present for my better half from his sister, we haven't looked after it especially well and it's been used every day since we've had it. A grind setting (espresso, filter etc) would make it even better, but as it is I really can't complain. Mind you, it's turned me off instant/ready-grind forever, so I'm not sure my purse is too happy...!

Our Krups grinder has just broken down after 8 years constant use. It has survived being dropped on the floor and being shaken around by over enthusiastic grindees. I'm just about to buy another one. Krups are the Rolls Royce of all things coffee - look no further.
VERY FAST GRINDING OF SMALL QUANTITIES April 21, 2006 R. WILLCOX (Wales, UK) 23 out of 24 found this review helpful
Gosh! How quickly do you want to grind coffee beans? This little gizzmo whizzes up coarse in 8 seconds, medium in 12 & fine in 16 seconds. The only thing is that you, as the operator, have to judge how long to hold down the press-button switch but once you've mastered that plus watching progress through the transparent cover, it literally only takes seconds to produce enough grounds for "10" cups as marked on my drip coffee maker or, if you like to drink from big mugs like me, enough for 4 mugs. Suggest new users first count to 10 before letting go of the button and then vary their count according to taste. Would be 5 stars but the simple push-button switch is not idiot proof. Nevertheless, great value!
Great for grinding spices August 23, 2006 RedZnappa (UK) 19 out of 20 found this review helpful
This little machine is superb at grinding spices to powder. It doesn't have a removable bowl but not a problem once everything is ground,(10-20 seconds) I tip all into the lid, which acts as a little bowl & use a pastry brush to get the rest of the spice mixture out. I then wipe clean with a damp paper towel, easy as that. I havn't used it to grind wet ingredients, for this I use a handlender. These two items together really compliment each other & are all you need to create quick, easy & tasty curry pastes, as well as saving a lot of hassle meesing around with a pestle & mortar Im sure its really useful for coffee to :)
