| Features:
| • | Ideal for adding a magical nocturnal glow to any scenario, the atmospheric Moon Jar is out of this world. | | • | Because it lacks the dazzling gleam of an electric light, it's perfect as a gentle bedside lamp or a mood light at parties. |

Product Description This traditional-looking frosted glass container houses a solar cell, battery and LED lights.
The idea is to leave the Moon Jar near a window or under some decent artificial light so that it can collect energy throughout the day. Then when darkness falls it provides a warm, ambient glow.

| Customer Reviews: Moon Jar April 20, 2009 G. Cox (Surrey, UK) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
Bought this and the Sun Jar to sit in the conservatory on those lazy sunny afternoons, and that is exactly what you need to charge it properly. Bright days are not good enough so I was a little disappointed when I bought this in the winter and the charge didn't last long. However, now we have some decent sun the jars charge and glow with a dreamlike presence, and is well worth the money. They look so magical glowing in the corner, as if some fairy had been caught ib the jar.
Moon Jar January 13, 2009 Good day sunshine 23 out of 24 found this review helpful
I Bought this for my Gran and she loves it. She lives in a cold area where the sun always seems to be behind a cloud but she has no trouble re-charging it (she just puts it on the windowsill outside)
Its lets out a lovely glow.
I would certainly recommend this product, it makes a nice gift.
A sad fading light March 23, 2009 jocalvert (Uk) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I was so looking forward to having this jar. The first time I used it, it was lovely and I was so pleased. It hasn't fulfilled the early promise and hasn't worked properly since. I'm in the process of trying to return it and get a replacement, and hoping that the World Market seller is as good at customer relations as Amazon. I feel so disappointed is all I can say.. sigh
Not much of a solar light October 13, 2009 Marina 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The first day it worked like a charm. I love this deep blue moon-like glow (which - by the way - is the same as in the pictures). After the second day, it began flickering and then it went off. Ever since, it only works for a little less than four hours, then it begins to flicker and eventually it dies. Who knows, maybe next week it will die altogether.
I had read the other reviews and knew that there was a pretty good chance that it wouldn't work, I guess I liked it so much I thought I might be one of the lucky ones who have had it for three months and it still shines.
I'll try replacing the battery later on and leave it to charge when it stops raining, hoping I've somehow found the problem. I won't bother to return it a)because the postage cost is too high b) because I don't trust this product any more, I can't be sure they won't send me another defective one. If nothing works, it will be the most expensive marmalade jar in history.
*-*-*-*-*-*-* EDIT *-*-*-*-*-*-*
The problem is actually that the battery won't charge enough in the sunlight. In the end I was forced to use a charger and now it actually glows for more than eight hours, which is great, but it's not a solar light any more.
You know how the sequel is never as good...? October 24, 2008 Anna (London) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this because am so in love with my sun jar and I thought having both would be awesome - poetic, even!
However, the moon jar isn't a patch on its cousin. The frosted glass appears almost grubby; as if it's discoloured. It's slightly grey, and less attractive than the sun jar when it's sitting on your window-sill.
The light itself is almost an electric blue, and it is dreadfully cold. It's the colour of icicles and shivering and wanting to go home. Where the sun jar is comforting and cosy, the moon jar is slightly antsy-making, so am not quite sure what its purpose is. It could be used in clubs, or to create "statement lighting", but it has none of the friendliness or charm or warmth of its predecessor.
It's a little cheaper which, I suppose, reflects its not being as good. But if you're vascillating between the 2 and the lower price of this has you tipping in its favour, I honestly recommend you spend the extra fiver. This feels like a bit of a waste of money; the sun jar makes you smile. That's a big difference for what is a relatively small amount of money.
