Since taking delivery over a week ago, a grand total of 1 (that's ONE) flying varmint has entered my home. Them bugs is smart, right enough.
The one that did come within range got toasted pretty smartly, so it works just fine.

This is the fourth different make of zapper I've bought and it certainly outperforms and outlasts all of the others. Two of them suffered cracked frames, and all of the other makes were difficult to use because of outer safety mesh. I bought The Executioner in the summer 0f 2007 and it is still going strong and performing well on the original batteries a year later. And it has certainly killed many flies, moths, midges and other flying nasties. Highly recommended.
UPDATE - 20 May 2009 - This machine is *still* going strong on the original batteries! The only problem I had, and it *IS NOT* a product problem, is sometimes I forgot to carry it through to the bedroom at night to eliminate pesky things that fly at me while I'm reading in the spotlight of my bedside lamp. So... I bought another one, this time the Executioner Pro that really is lethal. Not a flying thing can escape it! My old trusy Executioner now sits at my bedside and the new Pro version sits by my armchair. "Never in the field of flying insects have so many bugs been executed with so little effort!"
Still 5 Stars! Still HGIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I bought this for my boyfriends christmas stocking present and he loved it!
It came in very hand when during the summer we got a plague of flies in our house, everyday we were killing up to 20 each! As has been said in a previous review it does have a tendency to only stun larger flies so i then try to pick them up and fry them on the wires to ensure they aren't going to wake up again. You could also use a paper or large book to squish them once they have been stunned which is much easier than trying to squish a non-stunned fly.
Anyway, this is a great product and has come in very useful. Also, as far as i know we haven't changed the batteries in it, which is also very good to know.

After using lesser fly zappers I finally stumbled upon the executioner, and boy am I glad I did, this is way more powerful and much better quality than the other zappers I have tried, also the alkaline batteries provided give quite a kick, I will be back for more of these as presents, all in all I can highly recommend this.

I have bought a few of these type of fly zappers before, none of which seemed to work very well, mainly due to the outer layers of mesh to protect the user.
The Executioner is a different beast altogether... There aren't enough flies around to use this on. This thing is amazing and let out very satisfying crack and spark when a fly is swiped by it! I bought one for the landlady of my local pub and everytime she zapps a fly, the bar lets out a cheers... Highly recommended!
