Good value, good set from an excellent brand October 26, 2007 Tony Belpaeme (Plymouth, UK) 37 out of 38 found this review helpful
Just as the previous reviewer I did not buy this set from Amazon, but from a large supermarket instead. The offer was too good to refuse: a Sony Bravia 32" for 499. The TV looks fabulous, with a very impressive picture. I must say, the Freeview (digital TV) picture looked even better than what I recently saw during a demonstration in the Sony center. I was expecting some MPEG compression blurring, but this was as good as unnoticeable, especially on the high bandwidth channels such as BBC1, 2, ITV and Channel 4 (as opposed to CBeebies, which seems to use more aggresive compression). Sound is just fine. You might want to hook a amplifier and speakers if you like deep basses: the set only has 2 10W tweeters in front and thus lacks bass, but this did not disturb me. The Electronic Program Guide is a bit disappointing in that it does not show a synopsis of the program: I've owned two digital receivers before buying this television and there the user interface was (a) more intuitive and (b) much more informative. I would expect better from Sony. Only 2 HDMI inputs though, other Sony sets often have three making them slightly more future proof (although I can't imagine net being happy with 2 HDMI ports for foreseeable future).
A good buy October 21, 2007 Macca (UK) 36 out of 37 found this review helpful
I didn't buy the TV from Amazon it came from a well known Supermarket but the price was the same...The telly was really easy to set up and the colours are fabulous the sound is not bad either considering the price. The features are better than average, I don't have an X Box so lots of connections aren't a problem but there are more than enough to satisfy everyone. Looking at this model and others in the Sony range up to 1K I think it's a fantastic bargain and is every bit as good as the others in the price range. If you are on the lookout for a LCD you should take a look at this one you won't be disappointed.
A 32" Sony for 450 - Bargain November 25, 2007 Mr. P. J. Sampson (Bristol, UK) 19 out of 19 found this review helpful
For months I've been trying to decide which LCD to purchase, but having researched the area heavily I was no nearer a decision. For my budget of 450, I couldn't decide which was the best 26" TV to get. Then, wandering round a well-known supermarket, I saw this 32" Sony for under 450. The price immediately grabbed my attention, and looking at the picture, I was impressed by the way it handled Standard Definition TV. The sound was also good - admittedly, it doesn't compare to a dedicated surround sound system, but it's one of the best sounding TV's I've ever owned. To get the Sony Brand name at such a bargain price is amazing - I'm really pleased with my purchase.
Absolute Corker of an LCD! April 1, 2008 K. Marway (LDN/TYO) 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
Purchased the Sony BRAVIA after I had been in the market for a while for a new TV. Brought it home, set it up (an absolute breeze!) and turned on the Sky Box, SD (Standard Definition) picture is okay - as one may expect, but then plugged in my PS3 via HDMI, and WOW! Started GTHD (Gran turismo HD) and what an eyeball piercing experiencing, colours pop and the screen really delivers, in Sony's own words; 'colour like.no.other' Get this LCD, You won't be disappointed, the BRAVIA RealityMAX engine found in this piece of kit is just too much too pass up on, plug in your PS3 via HDMI, and you'll wonder how you ever got along with SD PS3!!!
WOW! what a difference a Sony makes May 2, 2008 M. Morbey (Essex) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
I used to own an Orion 32" LCD with 1200:1 contrast ratio and the set suffered badly from ghosting when I was watching blue ray DVDS. The picture was clear but something just didn't sit right. I saw this TV and thought that 400 for a Sony LCD TV was a deal not to be missed and as a result brought the TV. The TV arrived yesterday and the difference was amazing. The picture is crisp and clear and perfect for blu rays on a PS3. The sound quality I found to be way above average sets. To be honest if you are used to mind shaking bass then this TV won't exactly make the house rumble but for a living room TV 32" Sony you could do alot worse. Buy it now before this dissapears for good.
