When I bought it this was one of the few CDs and combined DAB radios on the market. It seemed to tick all the boxes for me in a nice compact unit. Having had it for several months now these are my thoughts:
Pluses:
1. Nice compact size so fits well on a bedside table
2. Clock is great, and has an adjustable brightness feature which I have found useful.
3. Tuning the DAB is an absolute breeze.
4. Sound quality from the DAB is excellent.
5. Very nice little remote control.
Minuses:
1. There is quite a significant mains hum. Despite plugging into an adaptor on the floor behind a table I could still hear this at night - in fact it's so distracting I've had to start turning it off when I go to sleep, which kinda negates the point of an alarm clock!
2. Call me a perfectionist, but I think there's too many buttons on the front. The layout could be simplified so you can find things more easily in the dark!
All in all not bad for the price, but I'd do anything to get rid of that mains hum!!

Bought this last December to be used as a radio cd for the kitchen rather than as a bedside clock radio. So I'm afraid I can't comment on the alarm clock features.
Overall been very happy with it, sound and build quality is good and we've had no issues with DAB reception. It's the perfect solution if you need a small and good looking DAB radio/cd player from a reliable brand.

Excellent radio alarm. Although it has a wire aerial, the reception is good, as is the sound. Haven't used the CD or FM and can't comment on these. Setting up was straight forward, but you need to push the buttons fairly hard. A nice feature is that the alarm can have a pre-selected station and not the last one you listened to. I mainly wanted this model because of the remote control. So far I have heard no hum from the transformer, so maybe Pure have cured that problem.

I bought this particular radio for two reasons. One, it's a Pure, and they're usually renown for reasonable sound quality. And two, because I wanted a DAB/cd radio which would play mp3 cd's.
The first of these two has come through. However the second - well, put it this way - the unit's buttons are fiddly and a pain to use. If you're playing mp3 cd's the chances are you have a number of tracks on them. You therefore will probably want to advance to the last track you listened to. Well, good luck! To advance via the buttons on the radio you need to press the advance button once and then wait a few seconds, then press it again and again and again and again.... until you reach the track you want. If you should happen to press the advance button too fast you risk ending up back at the beginning of the cd! Have fun starting all over again.
To advance using the remote supplied with the radio is even more of a pain. It's not touch sensitive, on the contrary - you have to keep pressing - and pressing HARD - and pressing and pressing and pressing..you can get RSS with this remote!
It should be that a cd advances as long as a button is depressed. That the unit is so basic - which it is - lets it down. The instructions which come with the unit are not clear and Pure's technical support people are not always the most user friendly.
The unit itself is a bit plasticy - fairly light so when you press in the buttons on its face, the unit will move as it's not heavy enough to stay put when pressed against.
All in all - I'd say if you're not looking to play MP3's, go for a Bush or less expensive model that offers DAB, plays cd's and does the job. If on the other hand you want a player to play mp3's then go for it, just remember the pitfalls.

This is great. I needed something light I could take to university because my hi-fi was a bit impractical. The DAB and CD sound quality is crisp and consistent. I personally find it easy to use - the buttons are quite intuitive so you hardly need to read the instructions to get what you want done. You can have several alarms, to play DAB, CD... at whatever volume you want. The variable display is excellent, with a large clock, and not at all bright when you turn it 'off' and go to bed. Looks good, too, and matches my other black, grey, white and silver desk items well. Contrary to one previous reviewer, I have not received a mains hum when this is on standby/off, let alone a signigicant hum, so don't be discouraged by that.
