Excellent sound quality August 13, 2007 N. Towers (North Lincolnshire, UK) 19 out of 19 found this review helpful
Full, warm bass and clean treble, reduced external noise, and comfortable to wear. The sound quality is so good (and I'm fussy about these kinds of things) that I find myself listening to my iPod even more than I used to. It's true that the in-ear design means you get rumble from the cable when you move, but I don't find this a problem. Highly recommended.
Better than the black ones August 31, 2007 J. Connolly (London, UK) 16 out of 17 found this review helpful
I previously owned the black CX300's which broke a few weeks ago after being battered around for the best part of the year. I got stuck using your basic in ear headphones until these arrived, and you really notice the difference. The bog standard headphones felt uncomfortable and sounded pretty bad. Then these white CX300's arrived, nice and cheap and the sound quality (especially base) is pretty awesome still. But the main thing is the cable, the white ones have a kinda rubberised cable, which feels nicer and a lot more flexible than the black one. The cable is what broke on the black ones, the sheathing breaking in two places. I heartily recommend these CX300's, and the eco packaging's a nice idea too.
Good for cycling, but not running. September 1, 2007 Mr. Toby F. Buxton (Dorset, UK) 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
For cycling, great, because there's no need to turn up the volume and be periodically deafened and unable to hear as traffic goes past. For such a good price, the quality of the noise isolation is great. However, in the city I wouldn't recommend using them for cycling, because you will be unable to hear traffic around you. For rural parts, though, perfect. However, don't try them for jogging. The cable picks up on the shocks as you run, causing the sound to get distorted. I imagine this is annoying if you are a runner, but since I'm not they are fine for me. The Eco packaging is a great idea, it's not a huge blister pack like you might find in the shops but a really small cardboard package. If everything was packaged like this, we'd get along fine.
Not for the gym September 1, 2007 J. R. D. Todd (Northern Ireland) 12 out of 14 found this review helpful
I bought these earphones about 4 days ago to use with my ipod in the gym. The main reason I went for these is the reviews previous to mine. Unfortunately those people must use their mp3 player travelling or for something else because they are a definite no go for the gym. Any sudden movement at all and all you will hear is a thud. So for example every time your foot hits the treadmill your hear a thud. The only thing I can liken it to would be put ear buds in and flick them. Apart from that they are very good as stated before. So finally if you don't intend to use them for exercise, yeah I would recommend them.
Practical Reservations April 8, 2008 Kevin Wilson 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
Firstly, to be fair, the sound quality of these is superb, and (so far) they fit securely in the ear. You might think that should be enough, but unfortunately not. The problem is the rubberised coating they've used on the wire. Because they are designed to fit snugly in the ear and reduce extraneous sound, any vibration or movement on the wire is transmitted straight into the ear, and because of the rubber, almost any movement of the head causes such sound as the wire comes into contact with clothes and skin. Its incredibly distracting, and an unbelievably stupid oversight given the quality of the product otherwise. A plastic coating is the obvious answer, and would surely eliminate this problem.
