That not only looks stylish but is absolutely superb if you like to play games as well as watch movies etc. The sound that is produced from this allows you to not to have little speakers dotted all around the room. My opinion - Samsung, Sony, Sharp etc. Have a bit more catching up to do with Philips when it comes to LCD TV.
Great picture, shame about the user manual. October 1, 2007 J. Graham (Scotland) 15 out of 18 found this review helpful
Superb looking TV with great picture and lots of gizmos etc., Heavy but easy to assemble and get working. However if you want to know how to get the best out of it, you'll just have to work it out for yourself. User instruction manual is pretty ropey and further support is only made available on a chargeable 090 number.
Excellent! January 16, 2008 K. W. Guerrero (Gibraltar) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I waited awhile before upgrading to a HD tv and just bought this model. First impression: Wow! The colours are stunning, with the display being bright and sharp - making my Sony VAIO AR51M's screen look dim in comparison (and that's saying something). DVD looks quite good, but the upscaling is notable, especially on menu texts, which can look a little choppy, but this is more of a limitation of DVD quality than the tv. Blu-Ray movies look incredible, and the Digital channels definately look sharper and smoother than the analogue ones. Despite what formal reviews have said about the sound, I was actually quite impressed. Many reviews state that the sound quality is poor at upper levels - personally I think you need to be deaf to have it that high. I've only raised it up to half volume so far and it sounds great. If you want better than that, then you'd probably invest in a dedicated surround system anyhow - and not rely on in-built speakers. They are more than ample for the majority of us casual users! My only niggle with it is the menu. It's not the most intuitive menu there is and pretty much requires you to read the manual to figure it out (e.g. sorting channels) - hence my only reason for not giving it 5 stars. Very very happy and no reservations in recommending it to anyone.

I was going to get a 42" version but this looks massive so I'm glad I stuck with 37". Picture takes a bit of a while to get set perfect, but overall was very easy to get going. Very pleased when connected to a Wii via a HD component cable. Also hooked up a Philips upscaling DVD player but to be honest I can't tell too greater difference at 720p. Overall this looks good, sounds good and is a pleasure to own. Also I was very pleased with the price I paid through Amazon.
5 stars - where else are you going to get full HD for the price??? January 30, 2008 Beavis 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The picture is great on HD, DVD, X-BOX360, Wii and if you turn the sharpness down to 3, then normal digital tv looks fine, nothing like in Dixon's where it looks like all the TVs are broken !! TV inputs are grand too, I currently have a Virgin HD box, HD DVD, X-box and Wii all plugged in at the same time !! Zang!! Anyhoo, get the tv, it doesn't suck ! ps the sound is the nads too !! virtual surround is tres bon !!
