I purchased this DVD player solely on the strengh of Customer Reviews. I was not disappointed. It is compact and fits anywhere without looking bulky. It plays DVD's that would not play on my old Player. I really am pleased with this tiny cutie and would recommend it to anyone (in fact, my neighbour is getting one, after seeing mine). And if it has a short life-span, who cares, for this price I will positively buy another of the same. In fact, I just may buy another one to store until needed.

Works fine, sticker on the back of the DVD advises it's Region 2 however contrary to another review on this page it worked on Region 1 DVDs straight out of the box. For confirmation just do a quick seach on the internet for unlock Alba DVD62 and you should find others who confirm this as well. Perhaps the guy who had to get a code had a faulty player.

I didn't realise a DVD player could be so tiny and compact until this one arrived at my door. It was no problem to set up, and played region 1 and region 2 DVDs straight out of the box (I've not checked other regions as yet).
The only caution I need to offer is that you might want to check the compatibility of your TV with the DVD player with someone who knows before you buy, particularly if you've got a separate freeview box plugged into your TV which you plan to run the DVD player off. My TV now won't pick up picture on ordinary channels with the DVD player plugged in. This isn't really a problem for me because I can just watch channels on freeview, but it may be a concern for some.

This was my third attempt at a region 1 DVD player! It played everything straight away! I also had a collection of funny adverts downloaded and copied to a CD and another to a DVD in various formats.... played these as well!
Menu system is fantastic!
So why only a 4 star and not a 5 star rating from me? I would have given it a 5 star rating but the red light that comes on tells me it's off and not on... it should be the other way around.... niggly point but it irritated me.
However, all the niggles apart... excellent buy for the price, you can not go worng on this item!
