Ideal portable iPod speakers August 31, 2006 I. D. Watson (UK) 43 out of 44 found this review helpful
I bought these so we could all listen to my iPod on holiday. The speakers are powerful enough to fill a large room with clear and crisp sound and as an added bonus the iPod is recharged at the same time. The mains power supply is the heaviest part of the kit while the speakers are compact, stylish and well built. Highly recommended.
A Must Buy For Music Lovers October 14, 2006 Mrs. M. D. Protheroe (swansea) 40 out of 41 found this review helpful
one of the best products ive purchased, and just 25 it was a steal, great for partys, because of its great sound levels, easy to use, im normally weary of buying things online, but this wiped out all those thoughts, disadvantages : no battery, which hasnt harmed me because pluging it in is 10 times easier, its a big plug so make sure its spacious around ur sockets. GREAT ITEM, WONT LET U DOWN, 5*, BUY NOW!
Very Good!! May 30, 2006 M. Rimington 34 out of 34 found this review helpful
I was looking around for some decent speakers for a decent price and i stubbled along these. I dont have an Ipod but they go great with my Sony Walkman. They produce a good sound, which is good as i like my music loud!! I fully recommend these speakers. Mike, Yateley
For the price this little set delivers the goods! May 15, 2006 Mr. Cj Jothi (London, England) 33 out of 37 found this review helpful
If you already own a decent stereo, that cost 100 and upwards, and you simply want to hear you iPod through speakers at home, then for goodness sake, don't bother with this, and don't bother with overrated, overpriced 250 Bose speakers either!. Just get a phono out lead, hook it up to your stereo's auxilary onnections and enjoy the quality amplification from your existing stereo. Really! If however, you do not have a stereo, or need something portable for your student accommodation/holiday/office, then something along the lines of this Intempo system is ideal. This particular product provides most of the goods you need. A devoted iPod dock (mini, nano, video covered) that also powers it, volume controls, USB connection that allows you to connect your iPod through the Intempo to your Mac/PC to download info onto it, an AC adaptor and, lo and behold, an AUX connection and a stereo jack lead that allows people with a discman/radio/otherMP3 player to still connect it (although, I would suggest unless you own an iPod not buy this product). All in all it is quite a sensible bunch of features, lacking a remote control, which would make this a certain 5 star product. I guess the two things people wanna know is does it sound good, and is it worth the cash? Well, sound wise, for the price people need to be realistic. Sound hasn't suddenly become space-aged since the arrival of the iPod. In fact, vinyls sound far richer than 128kbp 16khz compressed Coldplay/Eminem/U2 tracks! And then playing that through two tiny speakers with a measly 6 watts of power means you are not going to get a full sound, with rich bass, punchy treble and strong midtones. You are not going to get a wide stereo soundscape with two speakers a matter of inches away from one another, and you are certainly not going to get something that will be the centre stage for a party in someone's living room! What you get however is quite respectable. It seems to lack massive bass, and fails to deliver crisp high pitched sounds however the overall performance is solid, and provided you do not demand too much from it, this will serve you very well. In other words, it doesn't sound BAD, and that is the best compliment I can make. It is very compact. Plugging in the iPod is straightforward, and the second it is docked music can start flowing from the speakers. It definitely gets top marks for pulling off the "nice and shiny whilst not being tacky" look. The silver cones inside the speakers is an ingenious detail and the volume controls, whilst somewhat delicate, are actually quite impressive for such a small price tag. Shame you are constantly questioning whether that last touch actually registered and whether you have reached the loudest it can go. Sometimes a product comes around that is perfectly priced. This is one of them!
