Can watch TV at night without disturbing anyone! July 31, 2005 Mr. Jon Forster (London, England) 49 out of 50 found this review helpful
Good headphones. Good range. Make sure you turn up the sound on the TV - or hifi - and then down on the headphones. You will get, in my opinion, a better sound. Easy to charge. Can get slight interference but its rare. If you watch TV at night in bed then get them - you can listen without disturbing anyone else!
Perfect - Add em to your basket June 12, 2007 Mr. Ryan Hurst (Barnsley, Yorkshire, UK) 49 out of 49 found this review helpful
If you're sat there wondering about buying these things - do it. They are perfect. The range is smaller than quoted, but my house has steel doors lots of steel in the structure so that kills it a bit. Yours will probably be better. The sound is very nice, enough bass, smooth and not at all distorted or tinny until high volumes. They are comfy with rotating ear sections, padded headband and soft foamy ear pads. VERY well made, all switches etc feel solid and robust. They are large, but not ridiculously so. Cradle chrager is inspired design, transmitter is rather large (10cms x 7cms x 20cms). Overall nothing to complain about. RS140s (next pair up) arent worth 40-50 quid more; I had a pair of 140s before these. The 130s (these) are miles better than similar priced Sony, Philips and Samsung offerings so go for these. 5/5 every time.
The cause of much stress..! August 23, 2007 Malthus101 (London United Kingdom) 38 out of 44 found this review helpful
I use these headphones primarily at my computer which in turn I use for watching films, web browsing, working, music etc. I have not read all the other reviews but am surprised to see that no one has noted the most irritating feature of these headphones: If you leave them on with no signal coming in for more than a minute or two, they start "seeking" for a signal. This begins with a drop from the nice, clean channel to radio static, this is then promptly followed by a succession of 5 or 6 really, really loud and agravating beeps as the headphones search for an input signal. Take for example basic web browsing. Maybe you listen to a clip on Youtube or Amazon, then get sidetracked by some written text - if you have not given the earphones a signal within a minute or two, these extremely loud beeps will blast into your space! It becomes so annoying that I have thrown my headphones off across the room at times. If you leave them idle for too long, they shut down which is just as irritating. Abstractly, this may seem a small point but just you wait, you will be smashing them on your desktop just to get them to shut up every few minutes they beep in your ear! Who needs yet another over-thought device to add yet more stress to your life? Earphone time is supposed to be relax time! PS - when running, they are fine.
Great Sound June 22, 2007 Chris (United Kingdom) 24 out of 24 found this review helpful
The RS130 headphones are great. I've got them plumbed into the line-out socket on a DAB radio and the sound is excellent. Great bass and no hiss! Headphone ear foams cleanly cover the ears could be worn for hours with no discomfort. A little plasticy, but this keeps the headphones nice and light.
Not bad but not good April 16, 2006 RobH (Borders, Scotland) 22 out of 27 found this review helpful
Can't get a decent volume out of these, but they are OK at low to moderate volume - any higher and they distort badly. Also, they only work well in the same room as the sound source - in the next room, and certainly the room beyond, they hiss and even cut out. So my idea of having a good blast of the Cosmic Rough Riders whilst doing the washing up in the kitchen was sadly not to be. Listening to quiet acoustic music in another room is not possible because of the hiss. I understand this is a known problem with wireless headphones that use RF (radio frequency) as these do, the alternative being IF (infra red), but these require line-of-sight of the base station with the phones, so I definitely couldn't go in the kitchen. I'm still searching for a decent pair of wireless phones, therefore, and I'll pay good money!
