Labtec 242 headset review July 30, 2005 61 out of 63 found this review helpful
Excellent product for the price ! Well done labtec. Ok it's not swappable for either ear use as some models are but it does the business very well. Bought this for chatting via MSN Messenger and to date have no complaints. Sound is good and is pretty comfortable to wear. Took my brother-in-laws advice that some of the cheaper headset products work just as well as more recognised brands. Glad I listened to him. No regrets. Recommend purchase if your budget is an issue.
Brilliant!!! April 22, 2006 Ellen (Lymington, England) 23 out of 24 found this review helpful
I was slightly sceptical about buying such a cheap microphone, but I bought it in the knowledge I could always send it back. I am, surprisingly, really impressed. It's great! It did give me a bit of trouble installing it but then I did what the instructions said (which I should have done in the first place instead of trying to work it out myself :D) and it works really well. It's great for talking on MSN and listening to music and it's comfy to wear as well, so buy this microphone! I am so glad I didn't go for a more expensive microphone because this one works so well and it would have been a waste of money.
Excellent entry level headset January 30, 2007 M. Slightam 23 out of 23 found this review helpful
After looking at al the options and being pretty confused, especially as to what extra you were getting for your money with the more expensive options I went for the cheaper option. I have to say I'm glad I did, they work perfectly out of the box, are comfortable and have all the adjustments needed. I'm not sure what more you would want from them and certainly don't think you could get better for the price!
Pretty good September 9, 2006 xenofan (Nottinghamshire, UK) 15 out of 16 found this review helpful
I brought this for voice chat over MSN. It does pretty much exactly what I want to do. The headphones could have done with being able to be adjusted to a slightly smaller size - even at the smallest adjustment, they didn't quite fit snugly. But it wasn't too bad. The microphone works excellently with good sound detection - would have enjoyed it being slightly more adjustable; I found it came a bit too close to my mouth and I had to lower it to the level of my chin to be able to talk without being hindered - still picked up my voice great, but it isn't quite what the product is meant to do. I would have preferred a longer wire too, though the length is pretty generous, I did feel a bit longer would have been nice, since I use my mic to talk and don't want to be tied so close to a computer. But this was excellent value for money, does what it says on the box and I won't be having a need to buy a new one. Also, the design seems pretty sturdy, unlike my last pair (by a different company) which broke within 2 weeks.
tetchy October 14, 2006 P. Hutchinson (Loughborough, UK) 13 out of 15 found this review helpful
After using this headset for a few months, I'm now looking for a new one. The foam pads on earpeices inveriably come off and get lost, the cable grip appears to be the desirable sort. but on further examination you can push the wire through it, and actually does no gripping what so ever. and therefore after a bit of normal use begins to cut the audio in one of the ear peices. I sugest spending a little more money for more durability.
