Product Description The X-230 2.1 32W have been designed for providing you with a crystal clear sound for video applications such as games, music and lot more...The subwoofer adjusts automatically to bring distortion to the bass sounds. Moreover, the two X-230 2.1 32W satellite speakers use FDD2 (Frequency Directed Dual Driver) technology to eliminate any sound disturbances. The result is a clear and homogeneous sound for a smooth and controlled sound distribution. Last but not least, those satellite speakers can be easily wall mounted .

Logitech X-230 p.c.speakers October 23, 2004 Pete (North Wales) 50 out of 53 found this review helpful
The quality of this item is absolutely stunning for the price. They look (and more importantly sound) miles better than you could possibly believe for an item in its price range.Changing from your standard P.C. speakers to these beasts will totally transform your machine.Bass from subwoofer is awesome whilst satellites are loud, clear and do not distort even at full volume!.Totally recommended !!!!!.
Too much bass March 22, 2006 beta8gui (Cravensestershire) 40 out of 44 found this review helpful
I bought this speaker system after reading many 5 star reviews. Yes the sound quality is good, the speakers and subwoofer look good and they are well made. However, the subwoofer produces a LARGE amount of BASS even when the subwoofer volume adjustment is turned to minimum. The problem with this speaker system is that it is not possible to have more volume from the speakers and have the subwoofer at a reasonable level. The amount of bass from the subwoofer far outweighs the mid-range sound/volume from the speakers. The speakers also have a volume adjustment, which controls both speakers and subwoofer, yet this increases the amount of bass in direct proportion to the speaker volume. I have tried adjusting the graphic equaliser on my PC (in media player and on sound card settings) to reduce the bass although this results in music sounding distorted. I have also used my iRiver mp3 player which has more graphic equaliser options than my PC. The result is much the same, when the bass is reduced, music sounds distorted. The reason why the music sounds distorted and the reason why this speaker system does not produce enough mid-range sound is because it has only small speakers which are good at producing high-range sounds and a subwoofer only capable of producing low-range sounds; thereby creating the illusion of mid-range by combining the high and low-range. I think this speaker system could be easily improved with a lower minimum setting on the subwoofer volume adjustment. If you LOVE BASS and want it LOUD (i.e. Dance/house/techno/drum&bass/garage) then these speakers are perfect for you. However, if you want to listen to music such as indie and rock music then I recommend you look for a speaker system with better mid-range sound (and/or better subwoofer volume control).
Utterly effective and stunning value November 24, 2005 andythebrave (London, UK) 33 out of 35 found this review helpful
To be honest I wasn't expecting too much. After all 30 is little more than a truly budget pair of speakers and there's a subwoofer with this pair. These were purchased to go with a very, very cheap PC for my daughter. I decided to unwrap them and test with my office PC and here's the impressions:On delivery:Well packed and with a reassuring weight.Although small, the satellites are beautifully designed and constructed. The subwoofer is small-ish, again well put together and its weight is indicative of some serious innards. The surface fit and finish is excellent and the whole thing is just so stylish with it that it's bound to bring cries of joy;Where'd you get those then?; and ;How much?;.Hook up:A cinch even for a computerphobe like myself. Power cord to sub and connecting cable sub to satellite and that's it.There are separate controls for system volume (on one of the satellites) and for sub level (on the sub) so it's really easy to get the whole thing running nicely very quickly.Listening:The sound quality is excellent; the sub integrating seamlessly with the satellites (provided you don't make the beginner's error of setting the sub level too high). There is a richness, weight and clarity about the presentation that is pretty much cinematic.Cost:At around 30 these speakers are an absolute steal. If you don't want (or need) a full surround system at your PC then I really cannot think of any reason why you need to spend a penny more.Summary:Cheap next day delivery from Amazon was the icing on the cake for a perfect transaction from choice to use.Top act.
Excellent Value for money April 18, 2007 A. Whistler 30 out of 31 found this review helpful
First I would like to say that the sound quality is top notch. Definitely worth thirty pounds that I paid for.
Second, the picture does not do justice...the bass is gigantic and emits a powerful sound. The two satellites speakers are not small either. I am sorry but I have not got measurement in handy please do check logitect for in depth detail.
Thirdly, I do not know why people complains about too bassy. There is a separate volume control on the bass and you can turn it off if you want to. Another volume control obviously on one of the satellite speakers.
Forth, A headphone plug on the satellite speakers and a power button. This might be obvious but my previous speakers does not support headphone plug!!!
Fifth, when you turn the volume all the way off, it kills the sound. Again my previous speaker system doesnt...
Sixth, I dont expereince any european radio station yet but why dont you just switch it off once you finish with it? Back to forth point the power button is on the satellite speaker. Turn it off when you go to bed and you wont hear a thing at night. Its good for environment too :)
hope this helps
Logitech X-230 speakers - Wow October 8, 2006 Craig Beavers 22 out of 22 found this review helpful
Having just ordered a new pc i thought it about time to upgrade the speakers aswell so while waiting for my new system to be delivered i read a well known pc mag for opinions on what speakers to buy and these were rated as the best budget buy by a long distance, and i cannot fault them one bit.
After connecting the speakers to my existing pc in under 5 minutes i was blown away by the amazing sound quality. i even had to turn the bass on the sub down as it was quite overpowering on full whack. The right speaker has the master volume control on as well as the headphone jack and power button, plus the lead on the back which is for connecting to the pc, the sub has its own bass control on the back which you can adjust accordingly and this then plugs into the mains for the power supply. All simple easy connections make this a doddle to set up and keep cluster down
The actual units are well put together and feel very sturdy and solid. also the glossy black fronts add to the appeal of the speakers on your desk. They sound far better than some more expensive speakers friends have bought for their pc's and couldn't believe the volume i got out of these tiny units! and its not down to the sound card either as im using the integrated one thats in my 5 year old pc so with a dedicated card it should be even clearer! The sound truly is pin point and crisp with deep punchy bass from the stand alone sub, which coped well when playing The Prodigy and their deep bass lines! For this price im extremely satisfied with them and would reccomend them with no hesitation. They look great, sound fantastic and are a steal at this price. Buy them now!
