Imation CDR-80 December 6, 2003 Benjamin Harrison (England) 42 out of 43 found this review helpful
I've burned hundreds of these Imation CDRs, primarily as data backup, and not a single one has failed to write successfully, even at the maximum write speed (often, discs are only reliable when written at a speed slightly less than their rated maximum). You really can't go wrong with these discs; they work consistently, are inexpensive, and come on a surprisingly solid and well-made spindle with a lockable plastic cover. If you write CDs regularly, and, like me, have had different brands fail to write correctly in the past, these are the ones to buy. Highly recommended.
Not good for music March 5, 2006 Mr. R. J. Hole (England) 36 out of 38 found this review helpful
I download a lot of mp3s from pay sites and I need to make music CD-Rs from them to play in the car. I've been using these but I get a lot of glitches in the play-back. This is something I had always noticed if someone gave me a cheap CD-R to try out some music. Personally I have always tried to buy good quality CD-Rs and when I first started buying I did some research and found that Verbatim DataLifePlus were a solid choice. I never burnt a Verbatim CD-R that had glitches on playback. I bought these Imations because at the time they had good reviews and the delivery time on Verbatims was not very good plus there were reports of a drop in quality. I have since bought some standard 52x Verbatim CD-Rs and have had no problems at all.
Fantastic, Works 1st Time every time! February 18, 2004 33 out of 33 found this review helpful
I have burnt more than 200 of these CDs and have not had a single one fail on me!!! I have used them in my 52X drive (burning at 52X always) to burn my data (backup of hard drive) and Video Cds (VCD) and also Audio Cds. All work perfectly 1st time. I cant recommend these too highly. The only let down maybe there are no jewel cases, but i find them too bulky for the amount of CDs i burn anyway! Also the top of the Cds are great, they are mostly blank so you have plenty of room to use a CDR marker pen to write the content on it.
Full of glitches March 19, 2006 Pedro (Leeds, UK) 31 out of 38 found this review helpful
I've been buying cheap blank CDs in bulk for some time now and have always had a small overhead with CDs that don't burn properly. However, I have never had CDs quite like these. Every music CD that I have burned, without fail, has had numerous glitches in. I've tried all sorts of solutions, but I have come to the conclusion that the discs are simply poor quality. They seem to be OK for data, but for music, avoid at all costs.
Unusable in drives more than a year old June 15, 2004 27 out of 36 found this review helpful
I've been using imation CDs for years, and highly recommend them.Unfortunately the move from 48x to 52x has created a huge problem resulting in them being unusable in the 5 CD burners I have tested them with. Unless you have the latest and greatest burner, avoid this particular brand. A shame because I have a 100% success rate with the 48x version. The 52x version simply doesn't work on a large percentage of writers.
