Sennheiser have excelled again September 25, 2006 Dr. J. Akhtar (uk) 41 out of 41 found this review helpful
Had a pair of the 100 range, which leak sound everywwhere as they were open backed. The PX200 are completely different, Closed back headphones ( SO NONE ELSE IN THE OFFICE IS DISTURBED ) . The bass is remarkable, and the overall dynamic range is as good as most of the larger headsets that you might spend 10 times as much on. Very nice , clean crisp sound with Jazz , soul , rock , pink floyd, dire straits and so on . NOT listened to any classical yet with these headphones. Well worth the money
Just Great November 6, 2006 Isambard Kingdom Brunel (UK) 32 out of 32 found this review helpful
I have owned a pair of these headphones for nearly 2 years. I bought them to replace a much more expensive pair of Sony headphones and they are just as good. I have travelled with them all over the world and they haven't broken yet. I think you would have to spend some serious money to get better. I can easily tell the difference between my CD palyer and iPod with these phones. The extra detail and imaging that you can hear from the CD is easily handled by these phones. I can't fault them and they come in a well thought out carrying case too.
near perfect mini headphones November 2, 2006 M. A. Burgess (Mottram, England) 30 out of 30 found this review helpful
I've had a pair of these for a year and they're pretty much unbeatable. A good well-balanced sound, they are semi-closed back in style with enough bass for you not to bother with the bass-boost feature on your player. Not thick and heavy as some closed back types are, they work well with all music types from metal to vocals to classical strings and jazz. They fit my head (that's saying something!) and have a typically sennheiser soft pad fit to the ear, VERY comfortable for listening over long periods. Also, not only can no-one else tell what you're listening to, they also do a great job of reducing external white noise so are right at home in the typical public-transport environment of the mp3 listener and as a result make listening at low volumes a pleasure. However.......the universal joint 'pins' on the drive units are made of plastic. One of mine sheared off recently, looks like a weak point in their construction. Be careful how you store them, don't just throw them in a bag. I will still be buying another pair though.
a great buy October 6, 2006 B. Julier (UK) 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
Mine have just arrived but I thought I must review them because they're just excellent. Quality sound is perfect, a lot better than any other headphones I've bought at this price. The case they come with is great and should be good for travelling. They seem nice and sturdy so hopefully won't fall apart anytime soon (like my old ones). So I would definately recommend them!
Portable budget quality November 16, 2006 John Tree (Poulton-le-Fylde, UK) 14 out of 16 found this review helpful
I got these for use on my music technology course, keep them in my bag, always moving from room to room. They work well in many different roles: monitoring mixes on computer, listening to my iPod, checking recordings etc. The unique selling point is that they fold down to fit snugly into their protective compact custom case, taking up little room. They are tougher than they appear, but it is advisable to keep them in their case if moving about. The quality of the sound is good for a budget pair of phones, with reasonable bass communicative midband, and pretty clean highs. OK they are no match for, say, the Sennheiser HD650's, which for ten times the price will furnish you with a hyper-real experience, but for compact, portable robust phones that you're not afraid to lose, they provide a respectable sound, punching well above their weight...just what the doctor ordered.
