Very good headphones March 27, 2005 BIG Dave (Wales) 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
Regardless of what other people say I find these headphones are excellent and if you think they fall out in exercise then you must have small ears or something because I go on bike rides down bumpy welsh lanes and they dont fall out of my ears and as for the sound quality that's excellent aswell with a suitable bass boost that isn't too much. All in all a good product
Almost lost for words.... June 5, 2005 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
I was in the market for a reasonably priced pair of good quality headphones that were suitable for running and general gym use...as always I meticulously browsed many sites reading reviews trying to guage general opinion. After reading reviews about the MDR-J10's I was intrigued at just how different peoples opinions were. I decided that despite a few negative reviews the strong majority of positive reviews were on top. I was swayed by the in depth quality of reviews where the product was being praised. Now I have had a chance to "test drive" the MDR-J10's for myself, I can announce that for 9.95 they are EXTREMELY good value for money. I use them with my iRiver IFP-795 and they are incredibly comfortable, very secure and offer exceptional sound quality when compared to anything else in their price range. With regards to people saying they fall off/out whilst in use...I honestly can't see how this is even possible and you'll know what I mean when you see just how well fitted they are. It is quite apparent the first time you put them on that Sony have invested alot of time and money into getting the ergonomics of this product spot on. I went for a cross country run today and didn't have any problems with regards to the fit of the headphones. When it comes to sound quality, I also own a set of Sennheiser MX550's that I use for everyday use...these retail at about 20 and I actually think the sound quality of my new MDR-J10's is on a par, if not better than the Sennheiser's. So if you're looking for a set of headphones suitable for active use, then look no further than the brilliant Sony MDR-J10's, you will not be disappointed.
Best bang for buck May 31, 2007 daveo_78 (UK) 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
I'm not biased (well I am). Sony make the best audio hardware-period. I have used these budget 'phones for 4 years now, and have stuck by them with every new purchase. I use them for running and cycling and in the gym. Good points: 1. Noise blocking: treadmill thump is more like a patter of rain. Minimal wind guff when cycling, and can still hear traffic approacing from behind (keep your eyes open for front as that's almost silent). 2. Good sound: my player is on level 15/30 when running and about 18/30 cycling and get reasonable sound transmission. Actually manage to make my Sony NW-407 sound better. 3. Nice fit-I have HUGE ears so other in ear ones just dont sit right and hurt after a bit. These are VERY comfortable. Hold fast and dont move around - however when doing static CV stuff the sound disappears once full of sweat!!! 4. Low power drain. My MP3 player floats around it's quoted battery life, hence proving these bad boys arent power hungry. 5. Chunky robust cables to minimise snag damage (the chunkiest I have seen on any headphones I have tried-and hence confidence in their longevity for my purpose) Bad: Cables always break inside after about 9 months (I'm a very heavy user - about 2-3 hours per day of vigorous activity-but am careful). But this is also good because the usually break within the warranty. All in all I would say what are you waiting for - just buy them. At about a tenner from amazon you cant go wrong.
Brilliant April 23, 2006 Mr. Robert Thompson 16 out of 17 found this review helpful
These earphones are, by far, the best earpieces I have bought to date. They do everything earphones should do. They play the music at a good quality, especially for this price. They go in your ears easily enough and they STAY in! I've been reading the numerous 1 - 2 star reviews and keep hearing phrases like "they fall our too easily" which isn't true. I've had them for a while now and not once have they fallen out when I have been walking about or jogging. I'd definitely recommend this product to everyone, especially for people on a low budget. ^_^
Fine If You Wear Them Properly February 15, 2007 Redcap425 15 out of 16 found this review helpful
Despite the comments of some muppets, there is nothing wrong with these earphones. I bought two pairs, one for myself and one for my wife.... My wife ears are very petite... and I'm not exactly Dumbo!!! My wife had problems at first; complaining that they would not stay on her ears..... I showed her how to put them on properly, and she now thinks they are great. We have both used them while jogging with no problems at all... If they will not sit on your ears properly when first put on, you need to rotate them both slightly (right ear: anti-clockwise, left ear: clockwise) so that the plug sits firmly in your ear canal and the clip sits snugly (over the top of and) behind the ear (Use the small extension connected to the wire to rotate the bottom forward while pressing in the plugs!).... NO PROBLEM!!!! The sound quality is great, but like all ear plugs (as opposes to earphones), they are a little uncomfortable after you have been wearing them for a while (Hence only 4*).... but I have not yet found better for rigourous activity wear.
