Sony Handycam - DVD 110E March 13, 2008 Morpeth Ken (Northumberland) 84 out of 86 found this review helpful
This was my first camcorder, and I wanted something that would be easy to use. This fits the bill. Easy operating instructions. Charged the battery and it was ready to go. Good results both indoors and outdoors. The only thing I would coment on is that it does not come with any form of recording media so you will need to purchase some 8cm DVD's and a memeory stick (for the still photos). The other slight issue is with the software supplied for managing the recordings, its very slow to run. All in all i am pleased with the results I have got so far.

I purchased this camera for my Mother to capture her grand-daughter, who is always on the go and never in the same place long enough for a still photo. I was very surprised as to how small and light this camera is, even with the battery. It's surprisingly easy to set up and use and the touch-screen on the flip-out viewfinder was a surprising bonus! I've always been a fan of Sony products and this is no different. It's small, lightweight and easy to use. Perfect for anyone, of any age, to use. Although if you have large fingers, you may find the touch-screen capability is limited as the buttons are very small. Overall, this camera is excellent value for money and I am confident that it will withstand the test of time.

I cannot play back my movies on my Apple iMac, nor can I register the product. Sony confirm that the camera is not configured for Apple only Windows. I was not informed of this when I purchased the camera from Amazon just one month ago so I have a product I cannot use.

Was looking for a relatively inexpensive and easy to use product for use on holiday etc. So plumped for the Sony Handycam. It does what is syas - extremely easy to use and pick up, first class recoding quality (although can be noisy - shot a small clip on a nice spring day in Inverness with a slight breeze and watching playback on TV it sounds like it was blowing a gale!!). My only criticism would be with the software supplied and instruction manual. I am not illiterate when it comes to computers but 3 months down the line, I still cannot get the Handycam to link to my pc and I have no idea how on earth one goes about editing footage with the software provided.
