Cibox photo frame August 24, 2007 Dirk Mulder 53 out of 62 found this review helpful
I bought this Cybox photo frame lately, and I was expecting a display unit, that would simply display photo's from a memory card. Well, it did.... Unfortunately no matter how I played with the settings, every single photo that was displayed, was distorted either horizontally (using the 16:9 aspect ratio), making everyone very fat, or vertically (using the 4:3 aspect ratio), which made everyone frightningly thin. The least one would expect from a digital photo frame, is that it displays your pictures without stretching them. The pictures I tested were taken with Canon digital camera's (IXUS 520, and the 400D SLR), and were not modified in any way. So I have returned this item as being 'not fit for purpose', as it fails to correctly display a photo.
Overall... a bad product September 4, 2007 M. Hill (England, UK) 52 out of 59 found this review helpful
Where do i start on this little gem? 1) The screen is quite a low resolution for an expensive digital photo frame. Visible lines on the screen unless you are at least a few feet away from it. Doesn't do much justice for photos taken with a modern day DSLR-like camera. 2) The stand is tacky and cheap. Falls over very easily, i'm surprised i never broke it after it nearly fell off my bedside cabinet with a small nudge. This is after the clear plastic frame was taken off. 3) The buttons feel cheap to touch and sometimes unresponsive. 4) Offered no way that i could find to just play one photo folder and transition effects could have been nicer. 5) The screen developed a fault within 20 days of hardly any use. The screen would just show a black picture with lines on it 6) No way to adjust brightness of the screen and very difficult to see in a sunlit room. Overall my impressions with this was bad. I wish i'd read the reviews before taking the plunge but i figured they'd all just had a few bad experiences. I was wrong. CiBox, get it sorted. I'm most likely going to buy a Philips photo frame which is likely to cost twice as much but at least it'll last a lot longer and be worth the money.
great little product ! July 18, 2007 P. Robert Arundel (UK) 37 out of 38 found this review helpful
For the price I have got to say this is a great product and has loads of features that other more expensive frames do not have. Granted the screen isn't High Definition but it is as good as any other 9" frame that I have seen and for this cost it is a real bargain!!!!!
Cheap and noisy September 27, 2007 D.Hatcher (Ipswich) 35 out of 43 found this review helpful
For what you get in terms of function, it's good value for money. In use it's not so bad and there are plenty of functions, clock, calendar, MP3s and so on. That was the good bit. It's a mystery how this achieved CE compliance. Probably didn't - or perhaps it's a dodgy one. Why? The device is very noisy (electrically) and blots out a broadcast FM receiver at three metres. The included switch-mode power supply is also noisy. Now, when I want to listen to the FM radio, I have to switch off this off at the socket. The screen resolution isn't great and it may be better to spend a bit more and get a bit more. Just because you get loads of functions doesn't make it good. Buy something else that does the one job of showing pictures.
