4 out of 5 stars Perfect fit for the Canon 400D   July 4, 2007

Looking for a suitable soft case to keep your Canon 400D DSLR in? This one fits perfectly. A nice snug fit, but without any bulging, it seems custom made for the 400D 18-55mm kit. Even the neck strap fits in easily. The zip-top has got a small inside pocket for storage of CF cards etc., and a fist-sized front pocket could be used for filters or spare battery.

If you get other lenses then a bigger case will be needed, but as a first case for a new 400D it's ideal.

I bought this to take a Nikon D40x away on camping trips.
The fit is perfect for the camera when attached to the standard 18-55mm kit lens. The neck strap also fits in nicely too.

The padding seems adequate but I wouldn't want to drop it off the side of mountain, but then again, why would I anyway!

The front pocket is big enough to take a couple of filters and a spare battery and the internal pocket is ideal for memory cards.

The material feels pretty hardwearing and water resistant (light rain) but I don't think the zips will resist much water. The shoulder strap is a good length to sling the bag out of the way and it feels strong enough.

Overall I would recommend it for everyday use (maybe a bit bulky to hang off a belt though), I would suggest buying/making a rain cover for it but at this price, it's a steal!

5 out of 5 stars Perfect size for the Canon EOS 350D (Rebel XT)   August 8, 2006

Summary: The right size and weight for your digital SLR

After a long debate about which toploader case to buy, I trusted the dimensions of this one. It turned out to be just the right size for my 350D with the standard 18-55mm lens and a filter. If you want to leave the Canon strap on the camera that'll fit too. The front pouch will comfortably take a 58mm filter in it's box, or a small to medium-sized wallet. No room for anything else, but then you'll buy a proper gadget bag if you need to carry more.

It's very light but adequately protective with a long enough strap for a tall person (I'm 6' 1"), and a lot cheaper than the official Canon never-ready case.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent product   July 21, 2007

I bought this case for my Nikon D40 after dithering over this or the dedicated case from Nikon. How glad I am that I chose this! The camera slips into it as if it were made for it and it is cradled securely in the adequately padded casing. There is enough room for a handful of your favourite filters and a spare battery. I can't comment on the durability but I expect it to be as hardwearing as other products that I have from this manufacturer. Although the Nikon case will be first class as all their products are, save yourself 20 by buying this case and use the money saved for something else. I used it for a remote control!

5 out of 5 stars Good for lightweight equipment!   September 16, 2007

The size of this bag allows for a Canon 400D/Nikon D80 sized camera with an attached lens (two lenses if you pack well). This bag will NOT easily fit a Pro DSLR body (Canon 1D/Nikon D3) or a camera with fitted battery grip, so please bear this in mind. It's made of nice padded material, and from my experience it's pretty weatherproofed, so no need to worry about rain! There's also a small front pouch, perfect for fold up reflectors or extra filters/accessories. The strap is very good quality, and there's no annoying squeak when you walk with it!

For the price you're paying, this is a top piece of kit that I'd recommend for anyone looking to travel with very light equipment. It's well padded and provides good protection whilst keeping everything compact. Good job, Lowepro.
