Excellent Power Supply - very good price August 31, 2007 David W. Basford 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
Well made PSU. Lots of connectors, just one SATA power - that's the only downside I can see. Very quiet. Well packed by Amazon & reasonably quick (for free) delivery. Bought a similar one from Tekheads which failed and are now being a right pain by not refunding postage costs - cost me more initially as well! Stick with Amazon.
24 pin to 20 pin adapter October 26, 2007 C. jagger (York uk) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
Hi just to let you all know that you dont need the 24pin to 20 pin adapter that amazon says other people who bought this also bought! the last 4 connectors on the 24 pin block simply pull apart leaving you with a 20 pin and a spare 4 pin connector! So dont buy the adapter it is not needed! I bought this psu as my old 1 couldnt handle the power needed by my new gfx card ( ati x1950xtx) This psu is powerful enough to run my system which is a p4 3000 and 4 hard drives 2 dvd-cd rom drives floppy drive. and a meaty ati x1950xtx graphics card which requires 30 amps on the +12 volt side to run happy! it comes with a pcie connector that does the job easily. For 20 including amazon free shipping this is a bargain. So buy this now because if it runs my gfx card ok then the rest of you should be fine. Chris
Good when it works December 18, 2007 Mr. R. Bruce This power supply is nice when it works - enough to power an 8800 ultra card with 3 hard disks! However, when I first switch it on, it will about 50% of the time fail to start, and begins pulsing power out. The only solution is to pull out the plug and wait for it to discharge, before trying again. When it starts, it will work perfectly until i unplug it or switch it off at the wall. If you need reliability then buying another, more expensive PSU is the only way to go. I will shortly be replacing this with a more reliable power supply.
Fantastic - when it works. December 27, 2007 Mr. P. R. Hammond (Essex, UK) A brand new 600W supply and it wouldn't start on my new mobo, the supply would just 'tick'! However, it would work very nicely on my old machine and very quiet too. The leads are well grouped together with braiding around the main cables. Be careful though, the cables may be a little short for larger desktop cases. Overall, only two stars as my supply wouldn't work on the new board.
