NavMan ICN750 August 29, 2006 I. Howse (Merseyside UK) 60 out of 60 found this review helpful
This machine is awesome - its is the quickest reacting satnav I have used, it has the truly exceptional 'photo' nav system which works and is really useful. The screen is high def and easy to view even in bright sunlight. It is well worth its highish price and beats the competition hands down.
Excellent product September 20, 2006 Zorro (Stratford upon Avon, England) 30 out of 32 found this review helpful
Easy to use, easy to set up and a great product. Would recommend to anyone. If you want the best SatNav available right now, get this!
Navman ICN750 Poor piece of equipment November 10, 2006 C. Taylor-Coe (Loughborough, U.K.) 25 out of 36 found this review helpful
Having previously been a user of a Navman ICN650, I upgraded to the 750 product this year. BIG MISTAKE! I have to say the 650 was pretty damn faultless, I travel throughout Europe by car and drive around 40,000 miles a year and the 650 performed very well throughout the UK, France, Switzerland and Italy, achieving a success rate of I would say 95%. The 750 is a different story however. First of all forget the gimmicks such as the Navpix, it won't enhance the use whatsoever. It's just as simple to store your location in any satnav within a few clicks. In terms of practicality, I would give 3 out of 10. First of all the screen - wait for it guys - yes it's glossy!! and what does that mean? It means that the only time you can see it without reflections seriously obscurring the image is either a dull day or nightime, on a sunny day, forget it. The volume is sometimes quite inaudible. The suction cup rattles like crazy, and if you have a hard suspension this will drive you crazy!! And the mapping, not sure what's happend here, but sure as hell you'll need to take a map with you as backup. In conclusion, forget the Navman. There is a myriad of choice out there, these chaps at Navman need to get their act together, it may look the biz, but in terms of practical, accurate everyday useage you may aswell have a nodding dog sitting on the dash.
Top Class Navigation November 15, 2006 Keren Jones (Staffordshire England) 20 out of 21 found this review helpful
This was so easy to set up, I was up and running in about half an hour after taking out of the box (and I speak as a very mature woman ) I had looked at other systems and even speaking to other people my Navman is a far superior beast to the rest. It came fully loaded with English and European maps and was a doddle to use, the screen is very clear as are the voice instructions once you get going. It has not been out of the car since I bought it. I highly recommend this.
Awesome January 2, 2007 Peter Smith 19 out of 19 found this review helpful
This is an excellent navigation system that does precisely what it says on the box. It is very easy to use and extremely accurate. I've driven through France and Spain using it as well as the UK, and it does literally mean that you can leave the maps behind. It's that good. All we use now is a route-planning map - the whole of France on one page, that kind of thing - just to work out where we're going, and let the Navman sort out the details. The screen is clear and easy to see unless the sun's shining directly on it, and even then it's simple to alter the unit's angle to minimise the effect. Couple it with the traffic module and you have a system that will take you anywhere you want to go, and avoid all the jams automatically. And the camera is a simply brilliant idea. A previous reviewer commented that it's just as easy to enter the postcode, which shows how comprehensively he missed the point - about this feature and others. There will be times when you don't know or can't find the postcode - a really good pub or simply a wonderful view - and others where no postcode or address exists. Just take a picture, label it and the Navman will take you back to that exact spot whenever you wish. Just as happened with mobile phones, my guess is that within a couple of years EVERY navigator will include a camera for exactly this reason. Highly recommended. If I lost mine, I'd buy another one tomorrow, without any hesitation.
