Product Description Baby Monitor is BT's first entry into this market. Digital technology means crystal-clear sound quality and no interference. The Baby Monitor Plus has extra features in addition to the Baby Monitor, including an LCD, five lullabies and a temperature monitor. A range of up to 300 metres (in ideal conditions) and an Intercom feature means that a constant link is maintained between parent and baby.

Great Monitor - Best by far February 28, 2005 T. Blanks 89 out of 90 found this review helpful
I looked all over the web for a baby monitor with this feature set. I was all set to buy the Phillips as it was the only one that had DECT but then I came across this one.Although it isn't clear from the description, I emailed BT and they confirmed that this does use DECT as well. In case you don't know DECT is a digital transmission (used for the best cordless phones), it is very clear and I am able to use it even though I and my neighbours have DECT handsets (no interfearence). The range is fantastic and the built in tempreature display and alarm which is very useful. The sensitivity is phenomenal and there is zero hiss, on full sensitivity I can even hear a clock ticking in the next room - fortunately it's adjustable to filter out unwanted noises. Definately the best baby monitor available.
Top specification for a reasonable price April 28, 2005 30 out of 34 found this review helpful
Based on the Philips SBCSC479/00 DECT Baby Monitor, BT's offering differs only by its colour and logo. The monitor and handset come packaged in a nice purple carry case with handset charging cradle, power adaptors with long cords, and instructions. The monitor and handset are easy to set up and operate, but one drawback is that the handset (Parent Unit) cannot be used until it has been charged for at least 16 hours. The black on blue display is bright and very easy to read, and the sound quality is everything that you would expect from a Philips DECT unit. The temperature sensor is accurate, and the intercomm and lullaby features can be quite useful. Our current unit is a replacement. The original had a fault with the handset (sound distored by an annoying hum). However, Amazon have been great, the new unit is fine, and I would heartily recommend one to anyone looking for an attractive, feature packed, DECT Baby Monitor at the right price.
useful little monitor September 3, 2006 David Aughey (Wiltshire) 25 out of 25 found this review helpful
I have found this baby monitor to be really good. The basic design of the parent unit is more akin to a cordless phone as it sits in a cradle to charge, uses the same digital technology and has an intercom facility. The clarity of the sound can't be faulted either and while I really only used the intercom feature to poke fun at my wife while she was in the child's room, the sound quality of her less than impressed response was crystal clear. I have found a few scenarios where some specific features have come in useful. (apart from the intercom). The sensitivity of the child unit can be adjusted to remove background noise in the room, particularly useful in summer if you have a fan going in the child's room. The battery backup in the child unit is useful for power outages as we've discovered, but also if you're visiting somewhere and there isn't a mains point handy. While the temperature alarm is really useful in the winter time (and to a certain extent, the rest of the year), be mindful of the temperature alarm settings in the summer. There's nothing more annoying than the temperature alarm going off when there's nothing you can do about it. (Unless you believe the x-men are real and Storm is your next door neighbour). Until recently I hadn't really used the lullaby feature, but now our son is almost two, he thinks it's his own personal radio. Not normally a feature I'd look out for. All in all, it's a pretty decent little pack. I'd recommend it to anyone.
Brilliant but its not a toy!!!! October 17, 2005 24 out of 28 found this review helpful
This baby monitor is excellent. I have a large house and had bought (and returned) numerous monitors that kept going out of range, however, this one provides superb reception where-ever I am in the house. I particulary like the fact that there is none of that annoying buzzing static you find on other monitors. Good features include the ability to talk via the parent unit and that you can switch on the night light and music from the parent monitor.
Good but could be better February 13, 2006 23 out of 26 found this review helpful
After researching several baby monitors and reading many reviews, this unit seemed to offer a good range of features. In use we have found the sound quality to be excellent and the music very useful. The only two downsides are the poor battery life and the night light. Overall we are pleased with the product, but like most BT products we have owned the battery does not hold its charge.
