| Customer Reviews: One of the best and funniest British comedies I've seen for years! July 13, 2009 KM (England) 48 out of 49 found this review helpful
I hadn't seen any of THE INBETWEENERS when it was showing on E4 but after strong recommendations from my friends I decided to give this a go. I sat down to watch it yesterday morning and 6 hours later I had finished them all - it is that addictive. It tells the story of Will, a 12th year student who moves to a state school after being bullied at his previous school. There he eventually makes some new friends who are not popular enough to be the cool kids but not nerdy enough to be the geeks, so they are the inbetweeners. The show deals with getting girls, school, parents, alcohol, bullying and everything else that makes up the everyday life of a teenage boy basically.
If you imagine Grange Hill but with mouths that you wouldn't believe kiss their mothers then this is what you'll get. It is rude, hilarious, in some ways realistic and most importantly - very watchable. The characters are all fantastic, each one of them I'm sure you can relate to either yourself or someone you knew back at school. The script is very witty and fast-moving with some extremely memorable one-liners.
I've only watched these the once but I am already a fan. There's no doubt in my mind that I'll be watching these all again very soon and I look forward to seeing series 3 when it's on now. Highly recommended! Tell your "fwends"!
Fwend! June 10, 2009 Boof (United Kingdom) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
This DVD set is both hillarious, nostalgic and painful all at the same time. I had never heard of The Inbetweeners until someone lent my husband the first series and several hours later, there we sat crying with laughter and logging online to order the boxset.
OK, so it's 20 years since I was at school but those boys are just the same as the ones I went to school with; nothing changes. The geeky interlectual one, the gorgeous but doesn't know it one, the sex-mad lad and the dim one. This lot were all in my class! And it actually made me want to be back there!
I laughed, I cringed and I watched it all again.
Impossible to over-rate this series July 20, 2009 D. W. Griffiths 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Once in a while, either through the right chemistry or genius (possibly both) a series stands out against the dire, generally witless procession of British comedy shows. Instead of what I've become braced to expect (stupid faces, wide eyes, and high tremulous voices saying things like "what do you mean?" endlessly), The Inbetweeners is genuinely a humbling experience. It is hard to believe that there are still people with so much talent involved in Television in this treadmill, dumbed-down age. Everything works in perfect harmony in this series, from the exceptional performances of the actors to the astute observations of the writers who remember - all too clearly sometimes - what it is like to be a certain age. There is a small pocket of outstanding British comedy shows and The Inbetweeners joined its ranks from series one. This is a work of genius and impossible to over-rate.
Brilliant new comedy June 19, 2009 Antonio Moncayo (Zaragoza) 13 out of 15 found this review helpful
This a gem of a new comedy about 4 kids that are not cool enough to be popular and not geek enough to be nerds are they are desperate for one thing , sex. It offers a very good portrait of adolesence mixed with an excellent sense of humour.
After his parents divorce Will is moved from a nice private school to a new comprehensive where he teams up with another 3 six-formers. The show was voted by the British Comedy Guide website as the "Best New British TV Sitcom 2008.
The dialogue ,plot and soundtrack are brilliant and a pure joy to watch.
The extras include deleted scenes and a video diary of the main actors.

Very, very funny! August 9, 2009 Chunky Wilberforce (UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I started watching The Inbetweeners a few weeks ago, when I caught a repeat on E4. Unfortunately the series ended soon after, so I bought this to catch up on what I had missed.
If you haven't seen it, the show is a comedy about 4 semi-misfit teenagers and their attempts to get on in life. Its incredibly rude, but in a realistic way, rather than an "Its big to swear" fashion. The situaions the guys find themselves in are far too believeable, though I have to say I have never cacked my shreddies mid exam.
As a parent of a teenager, I really should be disapproving of this, as it is full of filth. However, it is also hilariously funny. Mary Whitehouse could be a new source of renewable energy, as I am sure she is spinning in her grave over this.
The extras on it are worth watching too, so all in all, I think 2 series for under £20 is a great bargain.
Well worth buying, but don't watch it with your kids!
