| Customer Reviews: NOT THE BEST BRUCE KICK FLICK, BUT HEY, IT'S A PLATINUM EDITION! April 15, 2007 J. Smith (Derbyshire, England) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
This is a very good martial arts movie and probably Bruce's most violent and bloody one. Out of his five films this one comes fourth, in my opinion. But since all of his films are absolutely bloody brilliant, that's not a bad thing at all. This new Platinum Edition is absolutely fantastic, and a dream come true for all Bruce Lee fans, with some very interesting extras for you to loose hours of your life watching.
The only off-putting thing about this film, or even this DVD package, is the overly exaggerated sound affects whenever somebody throws a punch or lands a kick. But trust me, I've heard worse!!!
Buy this DVD!
Great Film by why edit?? March 10, 2009 O. Barton (Essex) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Good film with great fight scenes!!
However, If your looking for the original 'The Big Boss' without any of the rubbish editing then this is not the dvd for you. Why did they change the credit theme?? Now its as if Bruce's character is feeling sorrow for what he did rather than triumph!
The only place I have found the original 'The Big Boss' is the 30th anniversary box set, which I definitely recommend!
The editing of this film is the only reason I have not give it 5 stars.
Bruce Lee's first (and most violent and bloody) movie. February 20, 2009 Mrs. J. Bagley 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Not one of my fave Bruce Lee movies, but still great.
But...
A few times, you hear the sound effects before they even get hit.
And the English dubbing is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. It's just atrocious. It's SO bad. Don't even bother to try and put it on.
Movie: 8/10
Dubbing: 2/10
Big Boss October 8, 2009 A. J. Harrison (UK) This the film that made Bruce Lee's a major start. It may not be as good as his later films such as Fist of Fury, Enter the Dragon and Way of the Dragon but is still a very entertaining film. The action scenes with Bruce are as allways great but I found the fighting scenes which didnt have him quite poor.
Still a must see for Martial Arts fan!
Excellent (pure Bruce Lee) October 16, 2003 M. Virgo (Cambridge, England) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is an excellent film, The acting seems a little thin at time but the fighting more than makes up for it. Bruce Lee choreographed much of the fighting himself and the fight with the brother in the ice factory is amazing and will keep you on the edge of your seat all the way through. Well worth buying just to see Bruce Lee but this film has so much more
