I just finished going through my set, not a single DVD will play all the way through. I'm using a Oppo 981, which is a good player. No other DVD that I've tried, even the other Granada's have this problem. There is definitely something buggy with the DVD authoring. I thought it was the player at first too but after further investigation found the problem replicates itself.
Maybe I need to get a cheap low-res player that will play everything. Seems a shame since my player will upconvert to near HD quality. My other mysteries look fabulous.

Unfortunately I have not been able to play a single DVD from this collection without problems. Despite the fact that my DVD player has no problems playing other discs. Very disappointing! Just as well for Amazon's returns policy!

The Poirot Box Set is a must have for all his fans, n'est ce-pas? - every episode from Collections 1 - 6 (57 episodes). Every episode has an entirely different plot ranging from normal murders, to jewel thefts to $1,000,000 robberies. Monsieur David Suchet is a fantastic actor whilst playing the Belgian Sleuth, and he puts his own 'grey cells' and imagination into his character magnificently.
I have watched only a third so far and already I feel I have watched them non-stop for the past week! They are BRILLIANT, and, in regards to the last review, my DVDs have all worked fine with nothing going wrong, so matey get a new DVD player!!!
If I could I would give it more than 5 stars!!!!!!!!! Au revoir!

We have just begun to work through the DVDs in this collection, though it was purchased a few months ago. Unfortunately, the second episode on the second disc in Part 1 (Triangle at Rhodes) will not play all the way through. In consideration of two of the other reviews of this collection posted here, I am now quite concerned that a large number of the other DVDs in the collection may also be faulty. I wonder also if other people are having or have had similar problems with this particular collection. I wonder also what amazon's policy is for dealing with such issues, even outside of their 30 day returns policy.
In my home, Poirot is much enjoyed by all, which is why we purchased such a large block of episodes. What a shame it will be if many more of the DVDs are unplayable all the way through.
