It Takes Two : A Bundle of Fun for All Ages May 26, 2003 18 out of 19 found this review helpful
Amanda lives in an Orphanage where her Social Worker is her only true friend. Alyssa belongs to a very posh family and her dad is engaged to a horrible women who only wants him for his money. Alyssa then runs away and comes face to face with Amanda who is on a Summer Camp trip with the orphanage. Together they try and make their 2 carers fall in love so that they can stay together. As Amanda and Alyssa are played by the famous twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley , this film is even more enjoyable than it could have been.
A fun family movie December 20, 2002 Mark Baker (Santa Clarita, CA United States) 15 out of 18 found this review helpful
Amanda lives in an orphanage where her only real friend is her social worker. Alyssa is the only child of a multi-millionaire. But one summer, they meet by accident and hatch a daring plan. They switch places and try to get Amanda's social worker and Alyssa's dad to fall in love before he marries an awful woman. But when the fiancee figures out what's going on, can the girls pull it off?Granted, this movie is a variation of The Parent Trap. And while there were a few unexpected twists, there really isn't anything new to the plot. But the movie is incredibly fun. The first time I saw it I laughed so hard it hurt, and I was in college at the time. The movie creates humor from the premise, sometimes setting up jokes well ahead of the punch line. The Olsens do a good job with the acting. It's fun watching them basically play each other. The adults do a fabulous job with their rolls, making it easy to get lost in this world. I have shared this movie with many friends since I first saw it, and they all enjoyed it. I highly recommend this entertaining film.
Great family film! One of their best!!!!! July 27, 2004 15 out of 16 found this review helpful
This is such a great film, especially for all Mary-Kate and Ashley fans! Any age would enjoy the film. It is a comedy/romance and stars great actors, including the Olsen twins who are soo cute in this movie! The movie is basically about 2 girls - Alyssa Callaway(Ashley)who is a rich, well manered girl who lives in various mansions with her father, Roger Callaway (Her mother died when she was young), and Amanda Lemon (Mary-Kate), who is an orphan at a childrens home. She is the opposite of Alyssa, although they are both identical! One day they run into eachother, and hatch a plan to get Alyssa's dad and Amanda's careworker, Diane, together! There's one problem though - Roger is engaged - to none other than Clarisse Kensington, a total witch in the girls' opinion, and they are not wrong! The girls take action, and swap places! After all, Amanda's turned away tons of available parents in the past, so she can surely throw Clarisse out of their lives, can't she? In the meanwhile, can Alyssa take Amanda's place and lead Dianne straight to Roger's arms? Watch it and find out! This film is NOT to be missed!
the olsen twins biggest fans review February 5, 2001 10 out of 15 found this review helpful
this film is the best, you could watch it all the time but you just die when you see the olsen twins when they were only 9 !!!!!!!!!
Very cute February 24, 2002 7 out of 10 found this review helpful
Just my kind of sunday evening film, (rich) guy meets girl, they fall in love, guy already engaged to super-bitch, manage to break up wedding at last second but with a load of chaos in-between and loads of other stuff that makes it a really cute movie. A twist on the parent trap, but with my favourite actress (Kirstie Alley) and those two cute twins that you americans love so much - buy it.
