Please note that this DOES NOT include Sharpe's Challenge. Despite being informed previously, Amazon continue to advertise that it does. There are several other suppliers advertising the same - perhaps they are all getting their text from the same place. But I can confirm 100% that the Amazon description is incorrect and that Sharpe's Challenge IS NOT INCLUDED. Score is based on site listing not the product.

its somthing like 35 cheaper to buy Sharpe - The Complete Series (15 Disc Box Set) and Sharpe's Challenge. Its the same thing, only you dont get the new shiny box :o

I bought this version rather than the individually boxed version because the amazon review said that it had 15 episodes INCLUDING Sharpe's Challenge (so I thought I could then just buy Sharpe's Peril) but closer inspection upon delivery of the item showed me that this is incorrect - the 15th programme is Sharpe the Legend which is also the one available on the 15 dvd set where it's described as an extra, not part of the straight series.

Sharpe's Peril/Sharpe's Challenge [2006]
As has already been pointed out this series DOES NOT contain Sharpe's Peril and Sharpe's Challenge which is a shame as all the DVD company appear to have done is re-release the previous boxset
Cornwell has written a series of fantastic books involving Sharpe and they are always well researched include accurate Historical Notes, sadly Sharpe the TV series does not always stay as historically accurate as people who are looking for that type of thing may like.
On the other hand Sharpe is a rip roaring ride, Sean Bean is superb playing the Diamond in the Rough and is well supported by his co-stars. The only disappointing episode out of all of them is Sharpe's Waterloo which attempted to place Sharpe in too many key points of the battle and your left feeling somewhat disappointed for what was a monumental battle (it just doesn't work). If you don't own any of the DVD's then you have 2 choices, Buy this as well as the Challenge/Peril DVD or wait and see if they release a new complete set.
