Classic Chuck! August 10, 2006 C. Shepka (UK, Scotland, Bellshill) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Why, I ask does everyone make such a big deal about Rambo and how he is such a hero rescuing all of the POW's. This film is very underrated and much better than any Rambo film. Chuck Norris plays a true hero, a hero that won't back down and stands up for what he believes in. This is also one of Chuck's best performances and he comes across as a man with morals AND muscles. There is a good amount of ridiculous action but it focuses more on realistic happenings in Vietnamese camps and displays the true pain that prisoners would go through. It has a great villain and a dedicated cast. This is what you call a great Vietnam film even if Braddock: Missing in Action III is better as it has more action etc. but this is still a noble and dramatic entry in a great series. If you have never seen a Chuck Norris film before this is one of the first I recommend you buy if you are interested in collecting them. Thank you for reading my review!
Best in the series and in WIDESCREEN December 22, 2007 Gavin Clifford (Melbourne, Australia) For the crimes against the people of "MIA2 appreciators", I now sentence you to........ I've loved this film since I was a kid, and when it first came out in the US coupled with the 3rd film in the series, I was a little miffed it didn't get a separate release, but was rapt anyway - anything was better than nothing. But then there was horror - the US version is cropped 4:3 pan and scan - devastating. I've just been living in England for 5 months this year and to my great surprise, saw this version of the film - and it's in WIDESCREEN. I'm now back in OZ with my UK copy very safely in tow - and it ain't leavin'! You lose! (if you don't buy this version)
