5 out of 5 stars Amazing no matter how many times you watch it   April 11, 2005

Alough this season doesnt quite match the current season 4 being shown on E4. But never less it spirals high above the previous two seasons, the first season followed a linear path introducing the ship and the significance of clark being on earth, and that bloody metal disk for his ship, the second just shows the further development of that dam metal object and further insight to the caves and clark...The third season how ever is compleatly different, opens a world of new storys and develops all the charecters rather than just clark,as well as the clark and lana situation getting worse the lex and linol situation goes to the extreme..my verdict this is one you really dont want to miss!buy it or you'll regret it!you can watch it over and over and it only gets beter and betr...i just cant wait till the fourth season comes on dvd to...

2 out of 5 stars Superman falls to earth   June 14, 2005

The first Season of Smallville was a fairly cliched sub-Buffy/Angel teen angst affair. But with a new scenario to be established, characters to be introduced and sub-plots to be initiated, "safety first" was perfectly reasonable option. The Second Season is where the series really took flight - a superb run of episodes dealing creatively and imaginately with the young Kal-El's coming to terms with his developing powers and unique station in life. It culminated in the quite superb "Rosetta" - one of the greatest of all Superman stories in any media.
The Third Season had a lot to live up to. That it should fall short by such a huge margin is something of a shock. Far from moving the game on, we're back to the formula-ridden dreck of Season One. Honestly, is there a single pupil left at that high school who HASN'T turned into the super-geek villain of the week? Those damn meteor rocks have become the most jaded plot device for the increasingly lazy writers. Lana Lang is reduced to a wimpy, sickly whinge-bag and Chloe has now morphed entirely into Basil Exposition.
Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are just going through tried and trusted formulas rather than reaching for the stars as they did previously. They deserve to have their butts kicked from here to Los Angeles. Smallville Season Three may still have great great production values and a fine ensemble cast, but "super" it most definitely is not. Must do better.

4 out of 5 stars Best Season Yet!!   July 3, 2005

After watching the series 1 episode 'Stray', I soon was gripped into the whole Smallville theme. Having not been Superman fan (Except the Terri Hatcher Superman Programme). Smallville introduced me to the Christopher Reeves Superman films. Season 1 of Smallville was good, Season 2 was even better and Season 3 was the best yet. The season's best episodes being 'Shattered' and 'Asylum'. Michael Rosenbaum is the best character in the programme as Lex Luthor. John Glovers Lionell Luthor is also great. Love all the characters, The storylines are great and hope the show can get even better with Season 4 also being top class. Tom Welling and Kristin Kreuk make a very good couple, but knowing that Clark ends up with Lois makes the scenes with the characters good viewing. Smallville also has good guest stars like 'Michael Mckean', 'Christopher Reeves', 'Sarah Carter', 'Jesse Metcalfe' and 'Ian Sommenhalder'. Do not know why they need to have so many Final Destination 2 actors in the series.
Great Stuff, Hope Season 5 is even better!!.

5 out of 5 stars The Smallville crew can do no wrong!   July 23, 2005

What a great Smallville season! In Season 3 we see the relationship between Clark Kent and Lex Luthor pushed to its very limits. Lex's obsession with Clark hits a new high and Clark is none too pleased to find out that he is being studied.

Once again we are introduced to a host of new characters, some good and some bad. Most of the mini plot lines work to compliment the main plot of the Season.

What with all of this and the absolutely intriguing love-hate relationship between Lex Luthor and his father Lionel Luthor, it's a must see Season!

5 out of 5 stars Just gets better and better !!!   April 27, 2005

Well what can i say....this has to be the best series of smallville so far and it is fair to say that the series gets better by the episode. I enjoyed this series more than the previous two as it is a lot deeper and darker as it focuses more on clark's secrets and his restricted relationship with his birth father Jor-El.
Highlights of the series are: the cat fight between Lana and Chloe in 'Delete', the super hero fight between Clark and Jonathan in 'Exile', when a young student at Smallville High somehow manages to drag Clark into her dreams in 'Slumber' and finally when Lana becomes infatuated with a new student in 'Magnetic'. This episode is super as we get to see the naughty side of Miss Lana Lang.
Overall, i would say that this serious is most definitely the best so far and i would give it five stars and ten out of ten. BUY IT !!!!!
