Double Dragon [1995]

The acting? All top class - the academy awards are well deserved.

The plot? Very cleverly done. It is so complicated that only an elite group of individuals (the producers) realise it exists at all.

The set design? Immaculately done. I really like the "druggie's dream" use of colours.

Altogether, definitely the best action movie of all time and maybe even the best movie of all time. Makes movie like The Godfather and Schindler's List look like rubbish.

This quote perfectly summarises the film. From the camp costumes to the literally unbelieveable plot this film is fun for the whole family. The brothers (of different races) produce some of the best perfomances ever seen, seamless blending amazing stunts with humour and even moving emotional scenes. With a cast comprising of Robert Patrick who takes a step up from Terminator 2 to a higher profile and more challenging role - testing his acting abilities to the max and Alyssa Milano, the film is simply spendidly well acted. The mind-blowing special effects are a sight to behold indeed. I was left flabbergasted by them.

This is an action/adventure film set in futuristic "New" Angeles - a Gang-Infested territory where the only people not corrupt are certain police officers and a group of teenagers known as "The Power Corps".

Living among these graffiti strewn streets are 17 year old twin brothers (yeah, right) and martial arts champions Billy & Jimmy, whose Guardian holds half of the mystical Double Dragon, an ancient pendant that bestows upon the owner of both halves Ultimate Power.

This is obviously quite interesting to your average megalomaniac nutter, fortunately, one happens to live in New Angeles and sends his goons to the twin's place, kills their Guardian, and steals the pendant.

The brothers must rescue their half of the pendant before the madman can rule the world!

Lots of fun, very stylish... a great film for families!
